3Shape have just teased a new TRIOS product

Stay calm. This is not a drill.

Yesterday across all social media platforms 3Shape released a teaser about a new product that will be launched on September 21st, 2022. Here is a link to the launch event. It looks awfully like an intraoral scanner.

Below is the image shared by the company.

3shape teaser new scanner TRIOS

This is exciting news! From the image above, it seems 3Shape is getting ready to release their next generation IOS which seems like it has some LED lighting. The TRIOS labelling seems to support this. Could this be the next generation TRIOS device?

If this is, it will be one of the biggest releases in the intraoral scanner market since IDS 2019. We have not seen a new scanner from the 'big 3' - TRIOS, CEREC and iTero - since that event. It is about time :).

Upon signing up to the launch event using the link above, this is the email you receive:

More TRIOS branding and something about small packages. Hinting at a smaller TRIOS scanner?

A new TRIOS scanner would make sense seeing that the last generation device was released 3 years ago. We reviewed the TRIOS 4 and it is a scanner I personally use in my clinic all the time. Great device with an awesome CAD ecosystem.

I am curious on what has been improved and something tells me it will be a major upgrade. The TRIOS 4, although it looked nice, was barely an improvement compared to the TRIOS 3.

This new product may be the most significant improvement to the TRIOS lineup in years.

The team at iDD are excited to share with you all the details about this new TRIOS as soon as we can.

3Shape shared this link to sign up for the launch event that will be taking place in less than 2 weeks. Make sure to sign up! We will be there too.

After the launch event we will summarize everything about this new TRIOS.  So keep an eye out on our blog section!
